Successful Communication is Always Your Responsibility

It does not matter if you are the speaker or the listener, as the Supervisor, it is always up to you to make certain that you and the other person agree on the meaning of a message.

You cannot count on employees to paraphrase what you say unless you ask them to, nor can you rely on them to take the initiative to make certain you understood what they said.

That means you always have to be the on to do it.
